Kiran Maharajah back from injury captained the Weybridge Vandals team won the toss and elected to bowl first. After early breakthroughs by young left arm bowler Suchin Kumar Shepperton were struggling on 34-3. Alan Inwood played a captain's knock of 53 and was well supported by Chris Elvin 44 in a partnership of 83. Will Totty got a valuable 21 coming in at no 8 which enabled Shepperton to post 186. In reply Weybridge Vandals were held together by keeper Adrian Waldock with 38. However, the forceful batsmen came and went at regular intervals. Dileep Rodrigo impressed with 20 before holing out for 20. Sandi Sundar 12 and Chulana Dias the power hitters got starts. The real turning point was when Elvin caught Kiran Maharajah on the mid wicket boundary with a good tumbling catch for just 2. Raj Arava played well for 18 as did Suchin Kumar for 13 but WVCC fell short on 152 in was felt by all players to be a good 3rd XI game. The marvellous teas and the hospitality from Shepperton CC was appreciated by all.
