Match Report by Ketan Patel
Second toss in two games won and decided to bat on a sunny day on a good track.
Rohit and Honey got a great start with 35 from 5 overs. Vandals then had a mini collapse reaching 75 for 4 off 20 overs at the drinks interval. Birthday boy Rohit was still there.
Hampton came out strong after the interval and reduced Vandals to 95 for 7 with plenty of overs left. Rohit played a fine innings of 46 before he ran himself out. He deserved his 50 on his birthday. With not much batting to come it was down to James & Sai to take the score on from 95. A superb partnership of 57 took the score to 152. James hit a stylish 23 of 34 balls. Sai finished 33 not out off 33 balls and showed his worth to the team coming lower down the order.
A good score of 153 was posted which would have been difficult to chase if Vandals had 5 genuine bowlers but they had only 4. Opening bowling pair of Lucas & James bowled 6 overs each and kept the pressure on by conceding only 20 runs and taking a wicket each. This early pressure set up the platform for a possible victory. Sai kept the pressure on with an 8 over spell of 2 for 22 with Steve grabbing 5 wickets for 37 off his 8 overs which ripped the heart out of Hampton. In the end the 4 bowlers did the job.
Vandals take second win on the bounce and are joint top of the table with one other team. Great start to the season.
